On Monday, April 20, following the governor’s decision to keep school facilities closed through the end of the school year, the OHSAA has canceled the spring sports season. We all feel terrible for our student-athletes, coaches, and parents who make interscholastic athletics so special. An email was sent to all spring athletes on April 21 and more information will follow.
On Thursday, April 30th the OHSAA, following the Ohio Department of Health’s directive that all school facilities are closed to students through June 30, extended the no-contact period through May 31. This means that coaches may only communicate with athletes electronically. Athletes are reminded that group activities are not permitted. Additionally, school facilities, including the stadium turf and ballfields will not be available for use by outside groups, club teams, etc.
